A
white carpet was also put on the ice to make it easier to walk over it. I was
the only person who wasn't wearing a sweater/pull over or anything of that
sort. But yes I did wear leather gloves so that I could play with the ice. I
climbed up the mountain all alone and touched the peak. I learnt how to walk in
ice with ease. It was very simple, just push your front foot first and then
place your heel down, simple. I also managed to slide and play with the ice. It
was an awesome experience.
Everything
about Swiss was good. It was definitely a treat to viewer's eyes. We were taken
to a place called the 'Dying lion'. Initially we made fun of the name and were
laughing but when we saw that sculpture it was surely a heart touching feeling.
It was like the lion actually cries to you in pain. It had Swiss flag and sword
in its hand and was pierced by a knife. We were explained that the brave lion
depicts Swiss army soldiers who died in the war.
Then
we were given 3 hours free time to roam around and do shopping. We roamed
around an hour and a half. The bridge over there was one of the oldest made of
wood and it was decorated with colorful flowering plants on its either sides.
There were so many swans in that river and they weren't afraid to come really
close to humans. It was an amazing place. And the cloths were decently priced.
The only thing I felt was worth the money in there.
So
it was a bye to Luzern and we started back. We were taken to 'Flavors of India'
an Indian restaurant. We reached there by 7.00PM. The food was excellent. The
person who was running the restaurant was Indians who settled in Swiss for past
33 years. Then we started back to our Hotel 'Radisson Blu' and it was a good
night
The
next day 22nd June, was a tour around Bern with a tour guide. I always like
walking tours with tour guides, we get to know so many information about the
place - mostly truthful, some dramatic (made up ones) but either way it feels
good to listen to them.
So
the day started at 9 and we reached Bern around 10.30AM. There was a big well
like area near the place we got down. When we peeped into it, we found bears.
Yes! Real bears were kept in a pit at the middle of the city. That place was
called the bear-pit and it was present there because it explains the city's
name 'Bern' which means bear.
We
saw the Bern Cathedral which was constructed in 15th century. It was initially
built by Catholics then was turned to protestants' church and then it was
restructured and now it is a cathedral. The left side is for devil and the right
side is for Angels. Mary Madeleine is in the centre and Jesus at the top. It is
a very beautiful piece of architecture. There was a stone bench left to this
and we were said that Aishwarya Rai sat on that during one shooting in Swiss.
We
also saw the Einstein's museum. It is actually Einstein's house (he lived in
the 3rd floor of that building) which was later converted into his museum. It
was the place, theory of relativity was written. We also saw the old clock when
it struck 12. It was kind of a play. 3 minutes before the old clock struck 12,
a golden hen comes out and goes back in. Then at 12, the little statues at the
top start moving and it looked beautiful. We also saw the prison tower, local
parks and lakes. It was said to us that the lower houses belong to lower
community and the houses at the higher level belongs to upper community in olden
days.
It
was 6PM, time for our dinner. We went to another Indian restaurant had good
dinner and were back to Hotel. It was good bye to Swiss the next day.
