A daughter’s daughter

‘A daughter’s daughter’ – Another great work by Agatha Christie under the pseudo name Mary Westmacott.

It is a Romantic pain novel which crushes our heart. The author has beautifully explained about a mother daughter relationships and the extent it can go without a scar. Every relationship has a limit. Just like a rubber-band which can last its elasticity to an maximum extent so is any relationship. If we try to pull it more it breaks.

Any scar, anger or pain in a relationship starts with possessiveness. So in here too. It starts in our hearts, grows every minute and every day and turns into a biggest wave of Tsunami. And then the burst occurs which destroys it all.

The ending to the book is nice though  painful similar to any other Mary's work. But I personally felt that the main reason for this novel is that unwilling sacrifice for anyone or anything results in greatest despair. If we are ready to make a sacrifice then we have to do it wholeheartedly or else it is better to be selfish. Nice one. Do read it if possible…

Score: 4.2/5
