So do u hav a bf?

This is the most common question anyone asks. And the most expected answer is yes and if it is not then the person is lying. Sometimes there isn't a need to ask too. It becomes a default scenario that girls who look like this, come from these places, had education in these schools, colleges are supposed to have a bf.
Sometimes it makes me feel really irritated. You introduce someone as your best friend and they take it as your bf. You have lunch with someone then that is your bf. Your speak to someone for over an hour then they become your bf. If someone walks you home then he is your bf. If someone likes/comments on all your FB pics and status, he also becomes your bf.
A good friend who tries to give you surprise on your birthday also is considered as your bf. And when you try to explain all they give is "oh yeah don't try to tell stories we know" kinda look. Oh come on haven't any of you ever seen girl and guy being friends or don't you people have best friends in opposite gender?
I always wanted to tell  "please grow up" after all we are not living in a world wherein we need a guy to protect us and take care of us. Maybe more than generalizing the statement I could say Just because I'm brave, happy, make fun of thing, don't care if people tease me with anyone and easy to talk to it doesn't mean I have someone to back me up and protect me or whatever you think it as.
When I say I'm single it means that I'm or at-least I want you to know me that way. When I say I hate being committed and it suffocates me then it does and When I say I am not interested it 100 % means that I'm not interested in sharing it with you.
So next time if someone says that they are single accept it. And stop asking this question "So do u hav a bf?" once in every 2 weeks.
